I did both and still in the gnome terminal the Fixed-10 font is hosed.
In the font selection itself in the preview box it is right, but in the
terminal it is wrong. (See image attachment of my last post)

But it seems to be a bug in gnome-terminal, because using gedit and
setting Fixed-10 as font gives me the expected result.

So, should one create a bug report on gnome-terminal, or is there
anything else involved here?
