I can see that installing an ancient wm is a pretty annoying thing to do to chase an obscure and non-fatal bug: there's a certain amount of magic in .twmrc > There is a new version of twm in unstable, would you please try that > one? And, also, could you please try gthumb 3:2.10.8-1 from > unstable? > > So, please try the newer versions (no need to dist-upgrade, just > install those two packages from unstable -- or even just gthumb) I've only learned about Debian packaging on a need-to-know basis: so after a bit of messing about have only managed to confirm what I'd suspected, that the "sarge" gthumb won't install on my "etch" system using any mechanism I understand (apt-get and dpkg, basically), and I've never built a Debian package from source. If a web reference on "upgrading just one or a few packages" exists, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I guess this should just go on file so someone more clued up than me can take a better look. -- Dominic Sweetman, 27 Somerfield Road, London N4 2JN. phone: 020 7226 0032 (mobile 07960 337130). mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
