More accurately, I restarted the Ubuntu LiveCD 7.04 with which I had it working two days before, and the version is as follows: ii libsane 1.0.18-3ubuntu API library for scanners I will try tonight with Ubuntu LiveCD 7.10 i386 and also amd64 to see whether the problem is really in the version or somewhere else in my Debian. In these Ubuntu, the version is ii libsane 1.0.19~cvs20070505-3ubuntu2 API library for scanners More later...
