Just to clarify: There are five options in that line I put in scim(1) man page. Among them, two ("-c simple" and "-f x11") are default, the other three are not default -- without "-e pinyin", the default is use all IM engines, without "--no-socket"; the default is use socket if available; without "-d", the default is to run in frontground.
