Hi,

Seeing this bug marked as pending and having seen nothing neither on
debian-i18n nor on debian-l10n-french, I checked out the cvs version of
dtc just to see how you handled this bug and #402657.

* the first sentence of the extended description of the first template in
  dtc.templates is:

Enter the hostname or ip do you want to use to connect to your MySQL
    server.

this sentence does not mean anything, I stopped reading further.

* the first string translated in the debian/po/fr.po is

     msgid "MySQL hostname:"
msgstr "Nom de l'hôte MySQL :"

there is a missing unbreakable space. OK, this string is marked as
fuzzy, so I jumped to the first really translated string:

    msgid "DTC database name:"
msgstr "Nom de la base de donnée DTC :"

there is also a missing unbreakable space, as well as a missing "s" to
  "donnée". I stopped reading further.

So, before uploading any new package, please follow the following
steps:

* ask for review on debian-l10n-english of all your templates.
* once your templates are written in correct english, ask for
translations on debian-i18n (you can use for example the
  podebconf-report-po tool).
* if you do yourself some translations (especially the French one), do
coordinate with Debian localization teams. They usually use
well-defined consistency rules. The easiest way is even to ask the
team to do the translation for you.
* once you have waited a long-enough time for updated translations, you
can then upload a new package.

Releasing templates in such a bad state is very problematic, as some
other translation teams will start to work on templates of a very poor
quality. That means they will just lose their time, but that's what
happens when doing uncoordinated uploads.

Cheers,
