Of course it should be updated, but why do you think that this is a RC bug and warrants removal of the doc package? It's not too uncommon that a separate doc package doesn't match the main package's version, but as long as the documentation is still somewhat usefull, I would not regard this as RC. I'm sure we'd have to open more RC bugs if this becomes the policy - e.g. wmaker-usersguide-ps is such a package.
