Hi,

the best way to deal with your problem is to just install an
original version of cdrtools from:

ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/

recent versions include a workaround to include the ATA drives
in the SCSI namespace. This allows cdrecord to again find all
drives via cdrecord -scanbus and to implement an auto-target mode
that lets cdrecord/readcd/cdda2wav find the drive automagically
if you omit dev= and if there is only one CD/DVD drive in the system.

The original software did fix dozens of bugs in the close past and
added many interesting features you might be interested in.....
ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/ is where active development
and maintenance takes place. Wodim is just a frozen version from the past.

Why make another program incompatible instead of using the software
it was designed for?

Jörg
