I'm going to dig a little further into your patch now and see what I can do about supporting dev=/dev/cdrom and the like.
Upstream Subversion revision 1016 contains functionality equivalent to your patch. I made the <target_scsi_id> parameter optional, and added a hardwareId attribute on CdWriter to use for dev=XXXX when talking to cdrecord/wodim. The hardwareId will be scsiId if provided, and device otherwise. So, if you leave off <target_scsi_id>, <device> will be used both for cdrecord and for other filesystem operations (like mounting the media for the write validation step). I've tested the changes and they seem to work fine on my hardware. KEN -- Kenneth J.
