Thank you very much for being persistent. As swamped I am currently, I try not to be a block to other people contributing. I realize that I was a block for you and I'd like to apologize.
As far as I am concerned, the master branch of adduser now contains the docs with your suggestions worked in as far as possible. So, if you continue working, it would be good to delete the existing "manpage-translation" branch and to begin with a new branch off master again. If you want me to do that for you, please let me know. As to the suggested changes that I didnt take, here is my rationale for that. I am open to arguments. -The new user's primary groups can also be overridden +The users' primary group can also be overridden I would suggest to make it explicit that we are just talking about the user that is created with this very adduser call to make it clear that no other users are affected. -Add new user to extra groups defined in the configuration files' +Add new users to extra groups defined in the configuration files' Here, ths singular is also better since we are just adding one new user that gets the extra groups. -in the range that the numeric identity is chosen from +in the range that the uid is chosen from uid is a technical term. I'd rather see it used instead of describing it. Not using the technical term leads to ambiguity. -during the release cycle of Debian 13. +during the release cycle of the Debian release after bookworm. this is an ok change, I think we can be reasonably sure that it will be Debian 13. -.BI \-\-gid " GID" +.BI \-\-gid " ID" again, GID is a technical term -to \fIGID\fP. +to \fIID\fP. same here.
