I'm pretty sure you mean well but this message doesn't land very well on my end. first, I have volunteered weeks of my limited free time to take over a package that's important to Debian QA and nevertheless has been orphaned for almost a decade. second, the issue is only reproducible in very specific circumstances, whereas your message makes it read like everyone is affected by it and/or it's obvious. so, no, I was not aware of the issue and therefore could not ensure that "no bugs like these are present anymore." third, I did send an email to piuparts-de...@alioth-lists.debian.net on July 6th, with subject "please give a try to adequate in experimental" and the only response I got was along the lines of "if you think it's functionally complete, then feel free to go ahead with uploading to unstable". in retrospect, I should have sent that email to a wider audience thanks, Serafeim
