severity 365226 important thanks Unfortunately, the problem is also present when using ALSA. On one boot the PCI card is device 0 and the motherboard device is device 1, on the next boot the device numbers are swapped. So if after the first boot a user configures their media player to use the PCI device, after the next boot sound gets sent to the motherboard device and the user gets no sound on their speakers.
This is clearly unacceptable, and either udev or some other package needs to be fixed before the whole thing is releasable, IMHO anyway. Also, systems with two audio output devices are quite common, because many modern motherboards come with an audio device, but the device does not meet user's requirements, so they stick in an additional PCI card. -- Kirill -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
