According to "Team Maintenance" in https://go-team.pages.debian.net/packaging.html and the team being listed as the maintainer of hub, it's fine for you to directly commit to it. You'd have to request access to the go team. I'd be great if you could do that. Otherwise I might want to try it myself, for which it would be great to build on your work. However I wasn't able to find your fork either from the hub repo nor your salsa profile. Would you mind making your work available somehow?
