FTR, upstream already merged a patch that enables support for wl-clipboard [0]. And there was also some discussion on the mailinglist about a new release [1] and [2] which would contain that patch.
An alternative would be to use wl-clipboard-x11 [3], but I hope that a new version of pass will be release before bullseye.
