A quick followup: I was able to use gpb and a bit of editing to get a
package built locally that seems to work.
I have a guest account on salsa, and I'd be happy to submit that work
there, but given that work touches 3 branches (master, upstream,
pristine-tar), I'm not quite sure on the mechanics of that.
According to "Team Maintenance" in
https://go-team.pages.debian.net/packaging.html and the team being
listed as the maintainer of hub, it's fine for you to directly commit
to
it. You'd have to request access to the go team. I'd be great if you
could do that. Otherwise I might want to try it myself, for which it
would be great to build on your work. However I wasn't able to find
your
fork either from the hub repo nor your salsa profile. Would you mind
making your work available somehow?
I've pushed my work up to a fork on salsa:
https://salsa.debian.org/cheetah-guest/hub/-/compare/master...update-2.14.2
https://salsa.debian.org/cheetah-guest/hub/-/compare/upstream...upstream-update-2.14.2
https://salsa.debian.org/cheetah-guest/hub/-/compare/pristine-tar...pristine-tar-update-2.14.2
Feel free to use this as you wish. I've largely moved over from the hub
tool to the newer gh tool (https://github.com/cli/cli) so I'm not likely
to dig into this more any time soon.
