I filled a bug against anacron for this, as this might cause a myriad
of hard to debug bugs:

Yeah, but there is serious "file-handles redirection magic" involved here,
maybe the bug is in localepurge; but I don't want to test
this a it breaks other package 'cruft' I'm working on.

I've no more ideas on how to help on this ("it works for me")
