Agreed. But this will almost certainly break piuparts, so I'll have to
talk to piuparts folks first.
This could be solved by making the one or the other behaviour optional
via a commandline switch.
The advantage of keeping the current behavior by default is that I
wouldn't have to modify the apt hook. I know that some people have
locally edited it, and I'd prefer not to annoy them with conffile
prompts. :-)
So I like the idea of new option. Now the hard part is inventing a name
for the switch... Do you have any suggestions?
But I haven't thought about using it in other packages' autopkgtests.
