Michael, Sorry for the delay in getting back to the bug on this. It took me some time to get some stable kFreeBSD testing environments set up (KVM for the win, btw), and I ran through a bunch of tests on the package.
As I was doing so, I ran into several gnarly issues, and in researching them I discovered #668794 and the relevant upstream issue[1], and now have a much better understanding of why kfreebsd support was dropped from the golang package (especially considering that it's different enough from freebsd proper that upstream is considering a whole new GOOS if they support it in the future). I apologize for the noise; I will now be following that upstream ticket with great interest and shall revisit this if/when we get more upstream support for the platform.
