Thanks for experimenting with this and posting your results.

What is required for this patch to be merged is not a one-time
experiment, but a written statement about support in maintaining this
from at least an individual person (you?) or, preferably, a team (the
kFreeBSD porters?). The duties I am thinking about involve fixing FTBFS
in a timely fashion on kfreebsd-* and handling _all_ bugreports that are
reported on that architecture.

The reason why I’m asking for this is that I don’t run kFreeBSD anywhere
and I also don’t intend to change that in the near- to medium-term
future. Therefore, adding support for this without someone who will take
care of the kFreeBSD problems would not be a good idea at all :).
