I've committed a revision which just brute-force removes the debug module
after ‘dh install --exclude …’ unaccountably installs it.

So if that's good enough for now, I can finalise the release and figure out
why this hack is necessary afterward. If you have an explanation for what
I'm doing wrong with Debhelper and how to get it to exclude the files
correctly, I can do that instead.
