How so? Everyone following testing had -2 up until now, not -6. How is this
going to go away in terms of upgrading existing installations?
To be honest the main upgrades we cae about are squeeze -> wheezy and
squeeze doesn't have 2.x.
Testing/unstable users are asked for forgiveness for occasionally being
used as guinea pigs though we certainly try to avoid breakage as much as
possible.
I have a suggestion, tell me if this makes any sense:
In preinst, Search the existing config for a namespace inbox {} entry, and if
none exists and no 15-mailboxes.conf file exists, create one containing an
informative comment. This should draw the user's attention to the right
places at the right time during ucf. Basically the user will be prompted
about updating a 15-mailboxes.conf rather than just dumping a new one which
silently and unintuitively makes the server unusable.
What you say makes sense but we are in a freeze so I can't make big
changes like that. The real mistake was not including 15-mailboxes.conf
in the first place.
