Hmm, it seems I did so inadvertently; Debian's clamav-daemon uses a
different location for the clamd socket so I set the location in the
Debian config file, not noticing that setting a socket location also had
the effect of turning on the watchdog function. I guess I will revert
this then.
You can leave the path, just comment out the variable in case someone
want to enable the status check.
I'm wondering if the next version of clamav-unofficial-sigs should just
use clamconf to get relevant paths (clamd_socket, clamd_pid, clam_dbs)
and have a more explicitly named option clamd_check_status to enable the
clamd checks.
Actually, that's not a bad idea. When I first wrote the script clamconf
didn't exist. I'll look into adding this in the next release.
