Just because no one has replied it doesn't mean that no one's
thinking about it.
I was getting the same error as you, presumably you've seen posts
like these:

Anyway, while I was looking into it I noticed that I didn't have the
(Arch) package opencl-nvidia installed. Once I'd installed that I no
longer got the "could not get platforms: -1001" message, and presumably
it's working. (Note that I haven't had to mess around with
nvidia-modprobe, or any special modprobing.)
Note that I got the first two lines before both before and after
installing opencl-nvidia.

Does Bumblebee work with other programs? eg:
$ optirun glxgears -info GL_RENDERER = GeForce GT 620M/PCIe/SSE2
GL_VERSION = 4.4.0 NVIDIA 343.22 GL_VENDOR = NVIDIA Corporation
Does using the nvidia GPU give an advantage on 2D applications like
Darktable? I had assumed not.
