Klaus is correct.  The potential benefit is access to a better SIP
implementation.
 
I'm curious tho.  I've heard about the "limitations" of chan_sip.  Can
you be more specific about what is missing or does not work correctly?

The current chan_sip has a few limitations to put it mildly, and as long
as we don't have another replacement, some people might be interested in
spending money to get something better.
