I'd love to have a an alternative SIP option available, ongoing work
on chan_sofia notwithstanding.

The new BRI card from Sangoma is also using woomera as an API and
Nenad Corbic of Sangoma has just been given SVN write access to
maintain chan_woomera in the CW tree, which gives me reason to
believe that this will be given the attention it needs to stay up to
date and reliable.

An important question though is how would your product be licensed
and priced? For example, if licenses are sold on a per channel basis
like the g729 licenses from Digium, that would be rather
inconvenient, on the other hand if it is on a per server basis
without any limit then it might only be affordable for installations
with very high loads.
