But the stated reason that [EMAIL PROTECTED] will not send in bug reports is that the maintainers insist on using this particular mechanism. I am not arguing whether Roland or Szmidt are right, but am pointing out that according to what has been said, as a project, not as an individual, the Hurd effort requires that bug reports involve a particular interface. Szmidt says that the cost of using that interface is too high for him. Others have said that the cost to changing it is too high for them. It may be that Szmidt is socially foolish in not discovering that the project does not do what he hears its people saying it does. Or it may be that those who are seeking help are socially foolish in not setting things up for a hacker who pays more attention to what is said than to discovering social confusions. Regardless, in so far as you are right that Roland mostly ignores messages from savannah, then the project as a whole has to convey to people like Szmidt that he need not submit bug reports the way he thinks he was asked.
