The point I try to make is that it's imho better to let the user
decide what should happen in such a situation and give him at least
the chance to get control over the situation back.

I would really prefer temporary obfuscation than e.g. data loss,
because my server simply decided to die.  I would rather like to see
messages dumped on all terminals saying that the system should "Go
home and have a glass of warm, dairy-fresh milk"[0] and that it would
be saner for me to reboot *now*. =)

[0] I like Hurd error messages.
