Profile Guided Optimization.  Here's a doc on it:

It's basically a more optimized build, but it takes twice as long to
run.  I've been building firefox for years this way with no issues
until recently.
Mozilla themselves are switching to building with PGO+LTO(Link-time
Optimization) with clang it seems.  I've tried it too but failed for
me.
I should note that building with LTO requires the new linker lld from LLVM.
