Hi,
Good sighting Christine and Jacques for our EEO Circle for this time of
year.
Although size of birds in pictures or single in the wild are sometimes
misleading
the forward leaning neck and the bushy crest gives it away as an Eared
Grebe.
I had a Red- necked Grebe in alternate breeding plumage at the Russell
Quarry Lake not
long ago.I had some trouble with identifying that one too..That one showed
showed a straight neck
almost leaning a little backward.
Yes birding is interesting,
Good Birding,
Paul
