I could see how a low-latency interconnect would help with a Second Life-like virtual reality, where most things happen server-side. On the other hand, given that low-end servers come with 4 GBit Ethernet NICs, just distributing the game world across a 2d torus would do as well, or better. Has anyone ever heard of a cluster wired in a diamond lattice (made from tetrahedrons) topology? -- Eugen* Leitl leitl http://leitl.org ______________________________________________________________ ICBM: 48.07100, 11.36820 http://www.ativel.com http://postbiota.org 8B29F6BE: 099D 78BA 2FD3 B014 B08A 7779 75B0 2443 8B29 F6BE _______________________________________________ Beowulf mailing list, Beowulf@beowulf.org To change your subscription (digest mode or unsubscribe) visit http://www.beowulf.org/mailman/listinfo/beowulf
