I'm sorry, you took this: "Please write to <[email protected]>, and enclose a compressed copy of a file which you believe that BBEdit has damaged, and we will investigate further." ...as a brush off?? That to me seems to be an explicit offer of further assistance. The difficulty in understanding your bug report was undoubtedly related to the fact that the problem was not caused by BBEdit, but by Transmit. I note that you didn't even mention until your third post that the files in question were being saved to a remote server. As Rich said: "None of what you described correlates to any known behavior in BBEdit." Ronald
