It's actually pretty easy, although a bit more involved than it should be. When you hit reply you'll notice that at the bottom left corner of the edit box will have a button with three dots in it. Click on that (it will show the content of the message you are replying to) and move your cursor to the bottom of that text and reply there instead of at the top.
