Hmm.. Well I have the software, and I have the valid licenses. My support
contract has been out for about 2 years though. However, physically it sounds
like there is nothing really stopping me.

 Scott,Remedy server licenses are not
version specific, so the license you have for 7.1
'translates' to 8.1, as long as it's valid.
The only question is if you are eligible for upgrade by
having a valid support contract or not.

I was wondering if I have a version of ARS (like 7.1), and I
have a number of ARS licenses agains that server. Now, if I
go and upgrade ARS to 7.6 or 8.1. Do I need to get new
licenses, or somwhow get BMC to upgrade my existing
licenses. Are my existing ARS licesnes also upgraded during
 the upgrade/install process.
