At this point you would probably be better off installing an 8.1 system, review
the 7.1 system from a business perspective and based on a review of what
requirements are met in the 8.1 system determine what workflow might need to be
carried over from the 7.1 system. Even then you might find it easier to just
rebuild the workflow.

In other words, don't think of it as an upgrade but more of a system
replacement. It might sound like it would take longer, but given that you are
all the way back in 7.1 it might actually be quicker.

Subject: Need to upgrade ARS and ITSM from 7.1 to 7.6.04 but do not have
documentation on customizations

**

Hi All,

I have a project to upgrade ARS and ITSM from 7.1 to 7.6  but we are not able
to setup a reference server of the OOTB 7.1 environment.   The install fails on
the Unix server and we have exhausted all attempts to create a reference
server.   However, we need the reference server to identify the customizations
because there is no documentation on what has been customized.

Does anyone have def files from a 7.1 OOTB environment or know a workaround to
be able to identify customizations?

What is the impact if we run the upgrade without identifying the 7.1
customizations?

Regards,
