Hmm, it just happened to me too! I did a pacman -Syu a while after my
previous
reply (about module unloading, its not it) and I thought its probably
because I
(accidentally) did a "make mrproper" after compiling/installing 2.6.12.
I recompiled
with "make clean" after install and nvidia installed ok. Just to
confirm, I did a "make
mrproper" again and got the same error message from nvidia installer.
Looks like
this is the actual problem.
