Thanks to everyone who answered this post. I have gone to the bookstore and purchased Professional Android Application Development by Meier. I have also gone to several of the sites listed.
I now feel as if I'm back on track. It's been a week since I've been able to do anything in Android as I've been busy and really felt stalled with that other book. So once again, thank you to everyone who offered their support.
