I can definitely say that Mark's book 'Busy Programmer's Guide...' is
superb. I have subscribed to his site and have the latest version 1.4.
Its really good because it explains concepts by giving parallels to other
GUI systems like Flash or Swing. If you know other platforms then having a
parallel example makes it very easy to understand.

For example, the ACTIVITY concept in Android is like the Microsoft MFC
Document View model (where the M and C are combined as a Document in the
Document View model)

What I look forward from books is whether the author has had any experience
with other popular platforms and if he can corelate some similarities to
make it easier for readers to understand.

I found it very useful and look forward to a print edition.
