If you're already extending fiber to the remote building, Could you just 
add a 2nd ATA in the outbuilding and make them part of the same ring 
group for incoming calls?  Obviously they wouldn't be able to put a call 
on hold in the barn and pick it up in the house, but do they do that?  
You could also offer the upsell that they could call between the 
outbuilding and the house via Extension numbers.
