I could never figure out why my car radio would stop showing the artist and
title when I drove out into more rural areas. Finally I looked it up and found
out that FM “HD Radio” means digital, and when the signal gets weaker, the
radio uses the analog signal which doesn’t have the additional information.
Not exactly what I thought HD meant. Thanks, marketing people.

I had a little battery-powered thing. Might have been Sylvania or something.

And the album is still available as a CD:

I grew up in Phildelphia, but WLS has a clear channel license (at night) so
after dark I could listen in. It helped that I was using an excellent AM car
radio from a 1950s Cadillac that I had modified to run on house current.

Thanks,

Brough

I used to listen to WLS (Chicago) from where we vacationed in northern
Minnesota back in the 60s. Art Roberts (this has been a work of Art) came on
around 10PM, and Dr. D. was around midnight.
