On Intel, NTSC/PAL/720p/1080i formats decide what modes can be supported, so we have a TV_FORMAT property for NTSC/PAL/etc, whose change will refresh mode lines. See xf86-video-intel/src/i830_tv.c -- Open Source Technology Center, Intel ltd. $gpg --keyserver wwwkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys 4D781827
