You mean that the driver should set the output mode if necessary when the
property changes. Maybe we can call the output.mode_set() in the function
output.set_property().

To the best of my knowledge it isn't, and I would wonder why that should
ever be the case.
A driver might change the mode itself, though, if it wishes, and it is
notified on property changes, so a *driver* can do that. There might be
use cases, but for the moment I fail to see any.
