The attached html snippet should illustrate what you suggested if I
understand what you mean.

I dropped the "Version 11, Releases 7.6" legacy markup.

I have added "libXi Version 1.5.0" (whatever comes from configure.ac)

I have added pubdate using the date "+%B %Y" format e.g. "October 2011"
to reflect the time at which the code was versioned and released as
tarballs.
