The bugfix has been merged to the 1.6.x branch, so that's the one to be testing now: http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/subversion/branches/1.6.x/
FWIW, 1.6.x now works for me on this issue (I had previously proven the 1.6.x-issue371 branch). Of course, all that really means is that the svn merge worked OK :)
