I commended out the line "diff-cmd = " to avoid something trouble with an external program. Furthermore I'm pretty sure that the issue happens while/immediately before calling the external diff b/c if I use a shell wrapper as an external diff which has only a line like "echo $*" in it, it will never reach that line.
