"index" is the code scanning index. Clearing that folder while NB is

Thanks.
You shouldn't have to do that though.
It has gotten much, much better in the last years. And of course
clearing the cache
can be a way to get to "stop thinking it's an IDE bug, and find your
problem".

"mavenindex" has a local index for your .m2 folder which should be quite
compact, and the remote index which is optionally downloaded - that one
is large. Creating the remote index for maven central does require more
temporary storage than its incremental updates later, since it is
converted from one representation (raw index file) into another (lucene
index). The maven remote index is also the only index which is migrated
to the next NB version due to that reason. But that one shouldn't
influence editor error markers.

Hi all,
I'm lazy, if something seems weird I just remove cachedir. Typically
weird is an error badge that won't go away even after close/open the
file, or close/open NB. But that's too extreme, I'm thinking Central
repository. I guess that's mavenindex, how about lastModified? What
should not be removed?
Or maybe a /better question/ is what should be removed to clear the
parser's cache and/or clean up weird situations? I'll save this info
in a script, I know I've seen the answer before.
On a loosely related note about the maven indexer database. The
database size seems to have a monstrous size till settling down to it
normal huge size. A curious observation, the numbers come from du -s.
8000M - checked a few days ago for cachedir, this is what I remember.
19165M - removed the cachdir and took a look while building maven index.
12821M - when indexing completed, the size had fallen back.
8195M - somehow, this next day, it's back to it's normal huge.
Some kind of compaction?
