Paragraph formatting was awful and apt just provided a real parser so though I have to do a little more work it's resulted in something more robust. I don't mind doing a little java coding and I need formatting control that would ultimately work for a book. The apt package has also been around for quite a while and it works great. I just feel the apt format is easier for folks and is very much akin to RST which is very popular among python heads. Apt is little hidden treasure, I'm surprised no one found it and used it to make wiki and blog tools. -- jvz.
