Public bug reported: 1) Description: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS Release: 24.04
2) not sure which package this applies to 3) I have two monitors connected to a laptop in clamshell mode. When I log out of my profile, I see my background wallpaper blurred, and my username on the primary monitor that I have setup, as expected. 4) However, when rebooting this layout is ditched for some reason: - I see a gray background (not the main problem) - the username/login page is on the secondary monitor - it is the wrong orientation ( the secondary monitor is setup to be portrait mode) but the login appears horizontally, seeming quite unpolished - the scale is completely wrong. Then upon logging in, there is no display output at all, the monitors detect no USB-C input. The workaround (which is quite cumbersome) is to disconnect the USB-C cable from the laptop, remove the laptop from the dock, and open up it up, log in, connect the usb-c cable so that it recognises the configuration, and then close the laptop and put it back into the dock. The monitor configuration is: Laptop -> USB-C -> Dell P2224HE (primary, landscape) -> Display Port Daisy Chain -> Dell P2224HE (secondary, portrait). When booting the same configuration in Windows, it seems to remember the layout somehow so that the username/login screen is shown on the primary monitor in the correct orientation with some splash screen.
