I'm facing the same issue. ThinkPad T14 with AMD CPU (and hence integrated AMD graphics). Has always been a source of frustration, but for some time now the graphics (not the whole system!) randomly crash; failure to wake up from sleep; or, as described in this issue, the external screen wakes up, the internal does not. But I get spikes of extremely high system load when anything takes place that _would_ happen on the internal screen.
