UPDATE: The generic kernel is a bust. It froze again when testing the hard drive with the Disk Utility, and this morning it froze while I was reading a fanfiction via Firefox - nothing more. At any rate, the 3.2.0-23-lowlatency kernel has been very reliable and hasn't frozen on me once.
So all of you Ubunters looking for a cure for what ails you and your freeze-happy compy, I've had absolutely wonderful results from the 3.2.0-23-lowlatency kernel. Disregard what I said about the generic kernel. If you want to know why I think this is, I have no idea. I know more about popcorn kernels than Linux kernels. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
