Thanks Christian for the comment. I've been contemplating upgrading my kernel also but am a bit leery of using a not-yet-released kernel (i.e. still in beta). Sure would like to solve this though because it seems to happen at the most inopportune times and my friends think I'm crazy for not using Windows, which I refuse to do..
