The problem seems to be with Unity 3D. I run XFCE at the office and it doesn't freeze. The one at home runs Unity 3D + compiz and it keeps freezing. Both computers have very similar hardware, i7, nVidia, RAID0, etc.
I just can't accept that the LTS release quality is so low. I wonder how stable 12.10 will be? Should I bail now or wait for something to happen?
